Jackie Evancho Sings on 'The Talk,' Reconnects With AGT Judge Sharon Osbourne

The Richland resident talks about her Christmas Eve plans.

  When Sharon Osbourne reconnected with 11-year-old Jackie Evancho this week on The Talk, she acted more like an adoring grandmother than a talk show host.
  The America's Got Talent judge kept hugging Jackie, looking at her proudly, then hugging her again after Jackie sang "The First Noel."
  The Richland Township singing star's performance gave Osbourne "goosebumps all over," she said. Osbourne was first smitten with Jackie when she was a contestant on AGT.
  “It makes me tearful. And you’re not meant to cry at songs like that. But it’s just so beautiful,” said Osbourne, who co-hosts the CBS show with four other women.
  Jackie is making the rounds of talk shows this week, singing Christmas songs to promote her Heavenly Christmas CD. She performed Monday on The View and will appear Friday on NBC's The Tonight Show.
  Co-host Julie Chen asked Jackie to what she is looking forward during the holiday season.
  "I’m looking forward to having our Christmas Eve party at my grandma’s house and seeing all my relatives and stuff," said Jackie. "And also, I’m looking forward to having this tour coming up. I don’t know when it’s coming, but I know there’s a fun tour coming up and I’m excited."
  "Is grandma going to make you sing for your supper? You’re gonna have to sing in front of all the relatives, I would imagine," said Chen.
  "Well, I mean, I used to do that," Jackie said.
  "Now they can play the CD. Give her a break. Really, she needs a rest," said Osbourne, who also asked Jackie about her recent movie role.
  "Wow. You made [the movie] with Robert Redford and I heard he called you up," Osbourne said.
  "Yes. He called us up and then he asked if I wanted to do this and I was super excited and I said yes, definitely," said Jackie, who plays the role of Redford's daughter in The Company You Keep.
  The interview ended with Osbourne quipping: "Could you give him my number next time?"
