Two years ago Today the Mayor of Pittsburgh proclaimed that Oct. 16, 2011 be declared "Jackie Evancho Day".

Reporter Lynette Chilcoat interviewed soprano prodigy Jackie Evancho before concert at the Budweiser Events Center cancellation.

In a telephone interview from her hometown of Pittsburgh she came across as politely humble, almost shy. Like any other girl entering the teenage years, she wasn't always certain how to respond, somewhat hesitant at times about the way to word her answers. Yet, she also realizes that she has made it to the big time and is appreciative for where she is at today.
The best part of being famous wasn't easily narrowed down for Evancho.
"There are a lot of things," said Evancho. "I get to travel all over the world and meet lots of people. I think my favorite is that I get stopped by people along the way and they tell me how much they like my singing. And, even though I don't have the public school experience, I'm willing to give that up to be able to sing."Read complete interview HERE.

Vote for Jackie Evancho "Most Beautiful Singing Voices" from The Top Tens!

Jackie Evancho's voice with its pure rich tone, wide range and perfect pitch is the most beautiful musical instrument I have ever heard.
Miss Jackie Evancho~The most beautiful voice I've ever heard this side of the 21st Century--bar-none!
A National Treasure - Headed for International Stardom - The Real Deal. She is truely a Voice of an Angel.
Jackie has a warmth and emotion in her voice that defies description. And, of course, her technical execution is absolutely perfect-- not to mention perfect pitch. I was fortunate enough to see and head her in person in Dallas. I have attended countless other concerts and musicals over the years, and I must say no singer has ever impressed me like Jackie Evancho!. Move heaven and earth if you must, but if you ever have the chance go hear and see her in person!
Her voice is one of the most beautiful things ever heard and she is only 11 years old. She voice is truly incredible so much so that most people have a hard time describing the sheer wonder and awe it inspires. The only thing more remarkable than her voice is her humility.
Jackie Evancho simply has the finest voice ever recorded; you have to back to the 1870's and Jenny Lind [the Swedish Nightingale] to find a voice on her level.

Only 11 years old, Jackie's beautiful tone and perfect pitch are astonishing, as is her overall musicality.

David "the Hitman" Foster [who has produced everyone from Barbra to Whitney to Celine to Mariah]said: "I have never heard anything like this! "
The most beautiful voice in recorded history. She has it all: perfect pitch, beautiful tone and phrasing, can also sing harmony in duets.
Jackie Evancho has one of the most magnificent voices of this or any century; truly a voice for the ages.

Jackie is one of a bare handful of musicians in history who can literally "become" the music, and is also one of the very few singers today who requires no electronic enhancements; she is in fact better than the equipment.

Seeing her in live performance is like seeing the legendary performers of old; any music lover should make it a lifetime goal to see Jackie Evancho in concert.
Clear, pure, and beautiful. Her voice has a bell-like quality and her pitch is perfect. She does not slide up to notes in her upper register. She goes right to the center of the note every time. There is no audible break as she changes from low, to mid, to upper register. Throughout her range, her voice has the same rich tone.
Good singers can transform a song. Jackie can also transform and transport the listener, to a place where all things are possible, with unparalleled sound, even while showing that transparent normalcy now stands out from the crowd of gimmick-mongers.

Jackie is great already, at age eleven. She continues to improve as time goes by. We can only marvel at her sound now, and wonder what the future will bring as she matures.
I do not recall a more a pure and beautiful tone in my life. Her beautiful tone is present throughout her wide range.
I've never seen anyone become immersed in the music the way Jackie does. The transformation from exuberant eleven year old, amazed at the fuss and her surroundings, to serious a serious musician who becomes a part of the music she's performing, and then back to the humble and thankful young lady is something to see live, and up close. You'll never forget it. I won't.

Trancas
I have heard a lot of beautiful voices in my time but I have never had one affect me the way Jackie's does. Those rich, buttery smooth, velvety, sweet, ringing tones she produces are absolutely awe-inspiring. The voice of the millennium! She will shake your soul and she is only eleven!
Simply one of THE great voices of our lifetimes. The emotion in that child, and her ability to convey it to her audience - on the wings of the beauty of that voice. The package is stunning.
Phenomenal talent and a beautiful soul. Just hope the world does not change that in any way!No one comes close!

Every song she sings becomes the definitive version, whether it's The Lord's Prayer, The Impossible Dream, OMBC, and the list goes on.

No singer has ever connected with her audience as she does: brings tears to your eyes and joy to your heart.

Jackie Evancho Appears at Kean Quest Talent Search Finals 4-5-2013

Article Credit : Jessica Sinichak_Pine Richland Patch
Jackie Evancho on Friday returned to the same stage where she gave her first ever public performance at the Kean Quest Talent Search—the popular local talent competition.
Jackie was a guest judge in the contest and presented the third annual "Jackie Evancho Award," at the Kean Theatre in Richland.
Named for the Pine-Richland native, who shot to fame in 2010 after appearing on “America’s Got Talent,” the award is presented to a contestant who, like Jackie, has competed in Kean Quest for two or more years, works hard, never gives up and continues to follow his or her dreams no matter the outcome, according to Kean Quest.
Kean Quest wasn’t Jackie’s only big event Friday. Her movie debut in The Company You Keep, starring Robert Redford, opened in theaters Friday.
Jackie, who plays Redford’s daughter in the political thriller, also will celebrate her 13th birthday Tuesday, April 9.

Jackie Evancho Interview: Young Singing Sensation Makes Silver Screen Debut in Robert Redford's "The Company You Keep"

Jacqueline Marie “Jackie” Evancho who will be 13 years old on April 9, 2013, was inspired to sing by watching Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical film adaptation of The Phantom of the Opera. She began her career as an independent artist, releasing a self-produced album titled Prelude to a Dream in 2009. But Evancho became a household name after finishing in second place in the fifth season of America’s Got Talent.
With the 2010 holiday release of her O Holy Night EP, the young phenom became the best selling debut artist of that year, the youngest top-10 debut artist in US history and the youngest solo artist ever to go platinum. She has performed in front of President Barack Obama and her first full-length major label album, Dream With Me, debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 chart.
“Well, it’s kind of confusing, but from what I know, Robert Redford had seen my PBS Special and thought that he could direct me. He contacted my manager and had me send in an audition tape. Within just a few weeks, I was on the set in Vancouver.”
Evancho has been touring the United States performing songs from her fourth full-length album, Songs from the Silver Screen, released in October 2012 and can currently be seen making her big screen debut in The Company You Keep, a film produced and directed by Robert Redford, which hits theaters April 5, 2013. Courtesy of J-14.com J-14 Exclusive : "Singer Jackie Evancho Talks Music"

At the young age of 10 Jackie Evancho had done things singers twice her age have only dreamed of. She became the best selling debut artist of 2010 and the youngest solo artist to ever go platinum. Two years later at age 12 (she'll be 13 this April), after her appearance on "America's Got Talent," Jackie lets us in on her new album, her passion for classical music, and what she loves most about singing.
J-14: You have such a unique voice for someone your age. What made you get into classical music?
Jackie Evancho: The movie "The Phantom of the Opera" was my inspiration. I loved the style of music that they sang and it was interesting and different to me. So I decided to try it out and I guess it was something that was supposed to be for me.

J-14: When did you first know that you wanted to be a singer?

Jackie: I knew when I turned eight years old and my mom asked me if I wanted to do a talent competition. I was first runner up to a 20-year-old opera singer. And so my mom and my dad the rest of my family who were there thought I had something special.

J-14: Tell us about your fourth album.

Jackie: You could say it's my fourth, technically it's my fifth because I also made a little album not professionally. It was really fun! I think it's doing great and I'm really excited and I hope that people love it because I love singing the songs and my favorite song on there is "The Music of the Night" from "The Phantom of the Opera."
J-14: Tell us about the first time you performed in front of a crowd.
Jackie: I was very nervous and since it was new to me I didn't know what to expect. But when I first sang and the nerves were there, it all went away once I hit the middle of the song. I let it all out and I wasn't expecting a cheer, but I got a cheer and I was very excited and happy. Now I see why it's so rewarding to me because the crowd is the thing that keeps you going, keeps you happy.
J-14: What's one thing you want our readers to know about you?
Jackie: I want them to know that I'm never forced to sing. Singing is something that I will always do because I love it and my parents always give me options. I really want them to know that I'm happy with my life and I don't want it to change.

Are you a fan of Jackie Evancho?
